EU Vat – Import Tax : From 1 July 2021, Pagani Design generally will need to collect EU VAT (Import Tax) on all sales of goods delivered to EU consumers, including circumstances where goods are delivered from outside of the EU or where goods are shipped from within EU where the seller is established outside the EU. The 27 member states are free to set their standard VAT rates.

EU VAT is a tax on goods and services within the European Union (EU). If you sell, supply or transfer goods to someone in another country you may need to charge them VAT. At Avalara we have a range of advice, guides and services to help you understand European VAT compliance for your business.

EU Vat – Import Tax

EU taxation policy

Tax is a sensitive subject – nobody enjoys paying it, but it’s necessary to provide us with essential infrastructure and services.

We all pay tax one way or another, whether it’s taken directly from wages, paid in an annual tax return to Revenue or indirectly added on to the price of goods and services in the form of Value Added Tax (VAT), stamp duties and the like.

The European Commission believes there is no need for broad harmonisation of tax systems across the European Union.

The Taz Point & Amount

The point in time when VAT becomes due is known as the Tax Point. It is generally the earliest of date of supply; cash settlement; or invoice.

The taxable amount is the whole consideration, including any duties and incidentals – but excluding VAT.  For imports, it is the same value as declared for customs’ purposes, including non-EU duties and tax, plus packaging.
